Despite a doctor having told her she only had a 5% chance of getting pregnant, Becky (Lecy Goranson) has found herself expecting a baby with the restaurant's very hot busboy. Sure, he barely speaks English and she doesn't speak Spanish, but this is gonna go great with help from certified life coach and apparent English teacher Jackie (Laurie Metcalf). Maybe, however, Becky's money and help problems could be solved thanks to Maria and Bridgette, a couple who are desperate to have a baby of their own and who we last saw scheming over margaritas to ask if they can adopt Becky's baby. Barr, whose iconic sitcom Roseanne returned for one season on ABC before being canceled following the comic's racist tweet aimed at former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, told Rabbi Shmuley Boteach that she's been offered quite a few new gigs since Roseanne was canceled. "I've already been offered so many things and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we'll see," she said on the podcast. ABC ordered a spinoff of Roseanne currently titled The Conners. The series will follow the TV family Barr helped create—Laurie Metcalf, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman are all returning, reprising their Roseanne roles—but Barr will have no financial or creative ties to the series. The first promo for  The Conners  shows that life will go on without  Roseanne . ABC’s new  Roseanne  spinoff reunites the whole family, with the notable exception of  Roseanne Barr  (who played the title character in the classic ’90s  Roseanne  sitcom and in last year’s nine-episode revival). With their matriarch gone — reportedly  dead from an opioid overdose , though ABC has not confirmed this — her sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) appears to be stepping in as head of the family. How Roseanne’s husband, Dan (John Goodman), feels about this isn’t revealed in the promo, but longtime fans might have a guess. In the preview video, Jackie and Roseanne’s younger daughter, Darlene (Sara Gilbert), discuss budgeting for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. “ I say we follow the Conner tradition: Spend every dime we have on Halloween, and then we have nothing to be thankful for or buy gifts with,”  Darlene suggests.
