Black Panther Makes History with SAG Awards Win — Is an Oscar Next?

#SAGAward, #BlackPanther #Marvel Black Panther is proving to be one of the films to beat this awards season. The Marvel film took home the statue for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture at Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. It also made history as the first superhero movie to take the award. Black Panther beat out A Star Is Born, BlacKKKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Crazy Rich Asians. Chadwick Boseman accepted the honor on behalf of his cast, thanking the director and “genius” Ryan Coogler. “We all know what it’s like to be told there’s not a screen for you to be featured on, there’s not a stage for you to be featured on,” Boseman said. “We know what it’s like to be the tail and not the head. Those films joined Focus’ “BlacKkKlansman” and Annapurna’s “If Beale Street Could Talk” in the best picture field, historically a prognosticative snapshot of the motion picture Academy’s ultimate lineup. In the BFCA’s genre categories (action, comedy and sci-fi/horror), films such as “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Game Night,” “Annihilation” and “A Quiet Place” all received recognition. Winners will be revealed at the 24th annual Critics’ Choice Awards gala, bro

The tournament has officially confirmed it will be introducing a stricter dress code for 2019, hinting that Williams’ skin-tight, all-black athletic wear wasn’t up to standard. You have to respect the game and the place.” Giudicelli didn’t provide details on the new rules and regulations but made it clear they weren’t as strict as Wimbledon, which requires players to wear all-white outfits.
