Thompson chose Kansas over a final four that included in-state programs Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, along with North Carolina. At different times in the last few months, there were different frontrunners in his recruitment. The Jayhawks were always a contender, and Bill Self has known the Thompson family since coaching Bryce's father, Rod, at Tulsa -- but the NCAA hitting them with a Notice of Allegations earlier this fall raised some questions.
