ABC Announces Series Finale Dates for Modern Family and How to Get Away with Murder

ABC announced the series finale dates for two of the network’s most beloved shows on Wednesday:  Modern Family  and  How to Get Away with Murder . Modern Family  will air its series farewell episode on April 8. ABC staging All in the Family, Good Times episodes for live holiday-themed special

On Tuesday, ABC announced that  Live in Front of a Studio Audience  is returning  for a special holiday-inspired line-up. The live event, produced by Jimmy will air Wednesday, Dec. 18, this time featuring episodes of Norman Lear’s classic sitcoms  All in the Family  and  Good Times. Jimmy Kimmel and Lear are re-teaming to executive produce alongside Brent Miller, Will Ferrell, and Justin Theroux. ABC has passed on two of its buzziest pilots, Get Christie Love and For Love.

A reboot of the 1974 blaxploitation TV movie and short-lived series of the same name, its original star, the late Teresa Graves, was the first black woman to star in her own hour-long drama series. This would not happen again until  Scandal  with Kerry Washington, which wrapped last month after seven seasons .  The nod here would have been great. The pilot was a passion project for  Power  showrunner Courtney Kemp, and Vin Diesel and Debra Martin Chase were executive producers.
