Watch Mariah Carey’s New and Improved Video for ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’

#MariahCarey #AllIWantforChristmasIsYou #Xmas #Music Mariah Carey debuted a new video for her Christmas classic ( and 19th number one hit ) “All I Want for Christmas is You.” Or should we say, “All I Want for Christmas Is You (Make My Wish Come True Edition)?” Why a new video?  To celebrate the number one, in part, but also because Mariah  needs  to be festive. More production values! Lighting! Everything that the holiday season brings. In a Q&A on YouTube before the video’s premiere, Carey said “There’s a lot of things to be discovered in this clip,” including a cameo from her dog Cha Cha.  “We wanted to make a modern classic,” she said. “That’s kind of been the theme of this song.” During the Q&A she hinted at a new album with some new collaborators that you wouldn’t expect from the elusive chanteuse Mimi. “Two different guys, actually,” she said. “The more the merrier, I always say. It’s Christmas!” By Bethy Squires  -vulture.com

Celine and Mariah Go On and On

There was a time when  Celine Dion  did not have to beg rappers not to tattoo her face on their bodies. But as the lady once sang, those days are gone. When Drake announced his plans to get the fellow Canadian icon’s visage inked on his rib cage, joining his tats of Aaliyah, Rihanna, Sade, Denzel, and the Beatles, Celine pleaded, “Please, Drake, I love you very much…. We can sing together. I can talk to your mother. Whatever you want, but please.” Oh, the price of being a legend. One day you’re standing tall on the prow of the  Titanic,  ululating “My Heart Will Go On” over Celtic pipes; the next, you’re giving tough love to the guy who wrote “God’s Plan.” It’s just another weird moment in Celine’s dazzling resurgence, nearly four years after the tragic death of her husband of 22 years and manager of 35, René Angélil. Like  Mariah Carey , Celine is an old-school pop diva riding high. Her new album,  Courage,  like Mariah’s  Caution,  ...

#MariahCarey #Xmas #Christmas #AllIWantforChristmasIsYou #GuinnessWorldRecords Mariah Carey  may have dropped  "All I Want for Christmas is You"  back in 1994, but 25 years later the holiday hit is still raising the bar. The  Guinness World Records  organization announced on their  website  Monday that the pop diva has set three world records with her Christmas classic. The song broke the record for highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 by a solo artist. The song also set the bar for most-streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours by a female artist, with 10,819,009 streams last December, as well as the record for most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song at 20 weeks. On Saturday, Carey was presented copies of her pages from the "Guinness World Records 2020 Edition," along with her record title certif...
