Sign o’ the Times (Super Deluxe)

#Prince #Signo’theTimes  #PurpleRain  #Wendy  #Lisa #TheRevolution Sign o’ the Times   is probably the most complete exhibition of   Prince ’s talent. Almost every style he’d attempted up to that point in his career is presented in its most clarified and uninhibited form. It’s also one of the leanest-seeming double albums of all time—not a note across its four sides registers as indulgent or out of place. But the very notion of “place” is a complicated one on Prince’s masterwork; the sessions that produced the record lasted over a full year and were intended for multiple unrealized projects and albums. The songs themselves sometimes hail from even further back in time, closer to the beginnings of Prince’s career, when he was still exploring the slender shadow-space between funk and new wave. Which is why it might be helpful to think of the  original 1987 release of  Sign o’ the Times  as more of a network than an album—a small reservoir of music filled from many disparate sources. No w

Usher, Sheila E. and FKA Twigs Work to Make Prince Proud With Their Grammys Tribute

#62ndAnnualGrammyAwards, #Grammys, #Prince, #Usher, #SheilaE, #FKAtwigs, Good news, guys: Usher's still got the moves. And we're super into this Prince tribute performance. #Grammys pic.twitter.com/kKJC2gz8gf — E! News (@enews) January 27, 2020 Given his own unbridled sensuality, unbuttoned blouses and love of guitar riffs, hopefully,  Prince  would have approved of  Usher , Sheila E. and  FKA Twigs  paying tribute to his oeuvre at Sunday night’s  Grammy Awards , complete with intricate pole dancing and lingerie as outerwear. Of course, if Prince had been alive, it feels like he would have wanted FKA Twigs to sing even a little bit, given his support of female performers and all. Still, Usher gave his best to “Little Red Corvette” and “Kiss” while the  Magdelene   artist literally danced circles around him, and there’s no way Prince wouldn’t have at least enjoyed the profound horniness of it all. Metallica make doves, humanity cry with world's worst Prince cover

Dig if you will, the picture of a sold-out Metallica show where thousands of fans are held captive to one of the worst covers ever performed. Dream if you can, a stadium where a two-person rendition of Prince classic “When Doves Cry” fills the air like a toxic cloud. Watch a clip for yourself to hear what it sounds like when taste dies. After performing last Tuesday night, on a September 4th that will live forevermore in infamy, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo have made an indelible mark on music history. Forget the parts they’ve played in the band itself. None of it matters anymore. Forevermore, the two will—must—be associated with a cover so heinous that it’d be sort of funny if it wasn’t fundamentally evil in nature. Uploaded to the official MetallicaTV YouTube channel with the misplaced pride of a puppy dropping a mutilated kitten on your front porch, “Rob & Kirk’s Doodle: When Doves Cry” sees the bassist and guitarist employ seemingly the worst possible choi
