2019 Masters: Tiger Woods storms leaderboard, wins fifth green jacket in furious finish

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The roars began when he entered the 18th tee box, reached a crescendo when he approached the green and rattled the pristine Augusta National course once he sank his final putt and spectators began chanting his name. Tiger Woods has done it again. For the fifth time in his illustrious career, Woods is a Masters champion. After an 11-year drought, golf's most polarizing and popular figure has added another major to his dossier, outlasting a star-studded leaderboard on Sunday by posting a final round 2-under 70 to win the 2019 Masters. It's his first major win since the 2008 U.S. Open, 15th of his career and first at Augusta National since 2005. With five green jackets now in his Augusta locker, Woods is second all-time at the pristine course behind only Jack Nicklaus, who won six times between 1963 and 1986. Woods began the day T2 and in the final pairing for the first time since 2007, but he sat two strokes off leader Francesco Molinari, who had been stead

2019 Players Championship tee times, pairings: When Tiger Woods, field start Round 1

#TigerWoods, #RoryMcIlroy, #DustinJohnson , #RickieFowler , #PlayersChampionship , #Golf , The Players Championship upon us. Tiger Woods is back in action. We have Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler cruising as we enter the biggest event of the year ... so far. All is well in the golf world. (Well, at least until the first rules blunder at TPC Sawgrass.) In other words, there's plenty to be amp'd up about this week in Jacksonville, Florida, and the first step is knowing when your favorite golfers will take the course. The groups for the first two days are about what you would think for an event that includes 50 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Woods gets 2018 Players winner Webb Simpson and 2018 Masters champ Patrick Reed in his group on Thursday and Friday. It's a (nice) reprieve from last year's pairing with Phil Mickelson in the first two rounds. That's not the only monster group either. McIlroy and Matt Kuchar will play with

2018 Tour Championship leaderboard: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy on top after stellar Round 3 scores

I have to confess, the 2018 Tour Championship might be over. Following Tiger Woods' 65 in the third round, it looks like he's finally going to get his first win post-comeback and hoist his first trophy in over five years. However, if he's caught on Sunday, there are probably only two golfers who can do it. And both of them have the juice to make it happen. Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy shot a combined 6 under on Saturday, which on paper is pretty good at this tough course. Even more so considering they were playing in the final two pairings and came in at or around the lead. Unfortunately for them, Woods' 65 was not shot on paper. It was shot in real life, and now both Rose and McIlroy trail by three going into Sunday. We've been here before, at least with McIlroy. He shot a 64 in the final round in 2016 to come from behind and get into a playoff before eventually winning that year's Tour Championship and FedEx Cup. The story for him this week has been the
