Even  Chris Hemsworth’s  debut as Thor in 2011 talked about how advanced technology is sometimes viewed as magic. That all changed, of course, with  Thor: The Dark World  and Benedict Cumberbatch’s  Doctor Strange , both of which dealt with the realm of sorcery.
