How fast is Antonio Brown's trade value dropping?

#AntonioBrown  #PittsburghSteelers #NFL

I’m not the only one who thinks that. I just heard Adam Schefter on ESPN say, “Maybe he’s trying to [act out] to intentionally to lower the return.”

Schefter and Louis Riddick agreed that the potential return for Brown is decreasing every day. Peter King concurs, writing on NBCsports.com, “The more Antonio Brown tweets, the more he scares off potential suitors. That’s not just something I think. In the case of one team, it’s something I know.”

“I’d be shocked if a team gave up a [first-round pick],” Schefter said. “You’re talking about a player who’s raised a lot of question marks. … There’s not a team in the league that’s going to be willing to give up a one at this point in time.”

Riddick: “I think [the return is] on a sliding scale, and I think the scale is sliding downward. It’s becoming a buyers market.”

Schefter: “Mr. Big Chest here is looking for a war chest of money. … The more he talks, the more he’s on social media, the more certain teams are scared off.”

The news item here is that Mr. Big Chest is looking for guaranteed money. He has three years left on his deal, not a cent guaranteed. That raises more questions.

“Any NFL teams out there, hit my phone (editor’s note: that would be tampering in its purest form),” Mr. Big Chest says as he huffs and puffs on an elliptical machine. “If your team got guaranteed money, tell ’em call me. A.B. can’t do no more un-guaranteed. So we clear. I wanna try to be clear.”

Try a little harder, would be my advice. Because almost nothing this man says makes sense. But I do wonder if he looks at his financial future and worries. One hit, and it’s all gone — all the money left on his deal.

I don’t want to guess here, but it would appear Mr. Big Chest has plenty of expenses — luxury cars, multiple residences, team of handlers, lawyers (remember, investigations remain open on multiple fronts), etc.

Kids, too — and kid expenses, as we all know, don’t go away. The money better keep flowing here. Business better keep boomin’.

“I’ve got a lot of kids,” Mr. Big Chest told ESPN last year. “So my sperm count is good.”

In the end, another team must realize it would be acquiring a soon-to-be 31-year-old player who still might be suspended for off-field behavior, quit on his team the week of a critical game, ignored his boss’s calls for weeks, trashed his coach and quarterback and now appears to be melting down daily on social media. Or putting on an act. Or something.

Yes, Mr. Big Chest might be talking his way out of Pittsburgh. He’s talking his way out of a lot of other destinations, too.

Why Christopher Reeve's ''Superman' Is So Hard to Leave in the Past

#ChristopherReeve #Clarkkent #DCcomics #LoisLane #RichardDonner #Superman Forty years ago, Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve made a Superhero film that directors have been chasing for years, depicting who America was then — or at least who we wished to be Superman. It’s now easy to believe a man can fly. It wasn’t in 1978, but today, in midst of an explosion of superhero movies, it’s a belief we give into with relative ease. Flight is most often the bare minimum of what we expect from heroes and villains who can perform any feat limited only by the human imagination. It’s not simply special effects that permit our belief, but rather an overall acceptance that these costume-clad characters are a defining part of our culture, modern myths at their best and populist cinematic staples akin to the 20th century western at their lowest form. There have been a record nine theatrically released superhero movies based on comic books this year alone, each claiming a major piece of the glo...
