Why Teal Pumpkins Are Everywhere This Halloween #KeepItTeal

Help everyone enjoy the holiday by offering allergy-friendly, non-food toys to trick-or-treaters at your house.

If you've been paying attention to Halloween decor this season, you've probably noticed some teal pumpkins in the mix. These blue-green gourds look cool, but they're actually part of something much bigger: It's called the Teal Pumpkin Project, and it's an awesome way to include kids with food allergies and other conditions in all the trick-or-treating fun.

By placing a teal pumpkin on your doorstep, you're letting the neighborhood know that your house has non-food treats available on Halloween night. You can paint a regular ol' pumpkin teal, but there are also inflatable teal pumpkins, Teal Pumpkin Project flags, teal pumpkin torches, teal pumpkin lawn signs and teal pumpkin treat buckets you can display. You can also add your home to the Food Allergy Research & Education's Teal Pumpkin Project map.

The Teal Pumpkin Project is a wonderful way to make sure no one has to miss out on the fun on Halloween because of food allergies or special dietary needs. So go ahead: Set up your teal pumpkin paraphernalia now, then stock up on these awesome non-food treats that'll have all the trick-or-treaters flocking to your house. Happy Halloween!

Nordstrom selling taped-up sneakers for $530

It may be a shoe that shoe lovers have a hard time adding to their collection. Nordstrom is selling the Golden Goose sneakers dubbed the "Superstar Taped Sneaker."  They are new, but look like they are falling apart with dirt and tape already on them. And they are being sold for $530!  "Crumply, hold-it-all-together tape details a distressed leather sneaker in a retro low profile with a signature sidewall star and a grungy rubber cupsole," the description reads. If you were interested in purchasing them (were you?), they are sold out on the  Nordstrom website . abc7.com  - September 21st, 2018
