Fiona Apple has shared a tribute to Mac Miller, who died Friday. He was 26. In a video, Apple discusses the first time she met Miller. “It was, like, for a few hours and it was a small group of people but I really really really liked him and I wanted to stay friends with him,” she said. “I remember that he was talking about how much he loved Jon Brion,” she continued. (Brion worked on Mac’s new record, Swimming.) “I wish I could have made music with him.” Watch the video below.
Since Mac Miller’s death, Chance the Rapper, J. Cole, Solange, Ariana Grande, Thundercat, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, and countless others have paid tribute to the Philadelphia musician. Over the weekend, Childish Gambino and Drake both honored Miller onstage during their respective tours.
