EMINEM’S ‘KAMIKAZE’ ALBUM DEBUTS AT NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD 200

Though it was released without any prior notice, Eminem's new Kamikaze album was still able to do major numbers, earning the Detroit rap god his career ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

Despite zero promotion except for a tweet from Shady, the new album pushed an impressive 434,000 equivalent units, according to Nielsen Music.

The tally includes 252,000 in traditional album sales. Shady's new album marks a bit of a resurgence for the rap veteran who surpassed the sales on his last album Revival by a large margin. The revival was still able to debut at No. 1 upon its release with 267,000 units sold.

The new album gives Marshall nine No. 1 albums, which puts him only behind The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand (11) and Elvis Presley (10), for the most in history.

Em's big week is only surpassed by albums from Drake, Travis Scott and Post Malone in 2018, giving him the fourth largest seven-day stretch of the year. Em also broke a personal record for most streams in a week. Kamikaze kicks off with 168,000 SEA units, which converts into 225.5 million on-demand audio streams.

Shady threw some spice in the game with the new album which features him going at a number of artists in the industry.

Elsewhere on the chart, Travis Scott's Astroworld album sits at the No. 2 spot, while Drake's Scorpion album is still doing numbers and holding down the No. 3 slot. Nicki Minaj's Queen slips from No. 5 to No. 7.

Kate Bush, The Dreaming : A Pitchfork Review

#KateBush # WutheringHeights # Lionheart # NeverforEver #TheDreaming In 1982, Kate Bush’s daring and dense fourth album marked her transformation into a fearless experimental artist who was legible, audibly very queer, and very obviously in love with pop music. In 1978, Kate Bush first hit the UK pop charts with “Wuthering Heights” off her romantic, ambitious progressive pop debut The Kick Inside. That same year, her more confident, somewhat disappointing follow-up Lionheart and 1980’s Never for Ever had a grip of charting singles that further grew her UK success without achieving mega-stardom—she barely cracked into American college rock. What is truly amazing between the first chapter of her career and the new one that began with 1982’s The Dreaming is how consistently Bush avoided the musical world around her, preferring to hone and blend her literary, film, and musical inspirations (Elton John, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd) into the idiosyncratic perfection that was 1985’s Ho
