The powerhouse producer behind Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, and Scandal has announced the new slate of programs she is developing for the streaming giant. “I wanted the new Shondaland to be a place where we expand the types of stories we tell, where my fellow talented creatives could thrive and make their best work and where we as a team come to the office each day filled with excitement,” said Rhimes in a statement. “Ted and Cindy and everyone at Netflix has been incredible partners in making that happen. Brené Brown: The Call to Courage

#BrenéBrown #TheCalltoCourage  #Vulnerability #Shame  #Empathy #Netflix  Netflix taught fans the magic of tidying up physical clutter in their lives through Marie Kondo's hit show, and now it's time to Spring clean the soul with the help of Brené Brown. The University of Houston research professor and renowned social scientist "The Call to Courage" Stream the special on Netflix. In college, I relied pretty heavily on Brené Brown's TEDx Houston Talk "The Power of Vulnerability" to get me through the day-to-day. Her video psyched me up before job interviews, reassured me when I failed, and calmed me when I felt overwhelmed with anxiety. I don't think I'm alone in my respect for Brown — her address is one of the top five most viewed TED Talks ever, with 38 million. She has become a go-to source on the study of shame, empathy, vulnerability, and (of course) courage, the focus of her Netflix special. The special, filmed in front of a liv

New Coke Was a Debacle. It’s Coming Back. Blame Netflix.

#Netflix #NewCoke #StrangersThings  New Coke, the soft drink that drew a nationwide backlash in 1985, is back. And the credit, or blame, for the return of Coca-Cola’s greatest folly goes to Netflix. A limited supply of the vintage beverage will be available starting on Thursday as part of a robust promotional campaign related to the coming season of “Stranger Things,” the supernatural thriller set in the 1980s. Netflix, which has 149 million paid subscribers worldwide, is starting to ramp up its corporate partnerships and merchandising deals. The strategy gives the streaming service a way to market its wares and generate a new revenue stream that doesn’t involve interrupting its shows with commercials. Unlike its competitor Hulu, Netflix is commercial free, although it has included product placement — sometimes paid, sometimes not — on its series and films. The revival of New Coke comes as part of a large-scale marketing effort of the kind usually associated with summertim

The singer — who perfected the secret album drop in 2013, and has since toyed with the tactic for releases like “Lemonade” and “Everything Is Love,” with her husband Jay-Z — did it again in the early morning hours Wednesday, one-upping the arrival of her own Netflix documentary, “Homecoming,” with a previously unannounced live-album version of the same concert. [Read our review of the Beyoncé documentary “Homecoming.”] Both the film and the album, also titled “Homecoming,” capture Beyoncé’s performance at last year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, in which the singer — the first black woman to headline the event — was backed by dozens of dancers and an e
